SS Homeside was sailing form Pepel to the the Tees with a cargo of iron ore in convoy SL.62 and was probably straggling. The last reported position was 43.52N 18.40W on 28th January 1941. The circumstances of her loss remain unknown. There were no survivors. The master (William Cockerill Beedle) and thirty-three crew members lost their lives and are commemorated on Tower Hill, Panel 57.
